Forrest Kerr Project

The Forrest Kerr Project is a 195 megawatt hydroelectric run-of-river project under construction by AltaGas Ltd. in Tahltan territory. It is located on the Iskut River, close to where it meets Forrest Kerr Creek, approximately 140 km southwest of Iskut. It will divert a portion of the Iskut River to generate electricity then return the water to the river further downstream. Run-of-river projects use natural water flows and gravity to generate electricity. They are sustainable and clean, and generally have a lower environmental impact than conventional energy sources.
